The description "copy my dvds" is too general to bge of much use in determining exactly what you want to do and with what.

Are you interested in:
* copying files from the DVD to your HD? Say, files created by Microsoft Word.
* making a backup of a movie or TV production.
* making an image file of the DVD on the HD possibly for use in creating a backup DVD
-OR-
do you want to use the DVDs to install programs to your new computer for use.
