Windows Media Player freezing at start up
he program, but never finishes populating the Library or creates any text. I've let it stay open all day with no progress from the program at all. It is impossible to interact with (your arrow is the loading spinning circle and clicking doesn't work) and the only way to shut it down at this point is from Task Manager
This has happened to me often, and the only fix I have found (and even it's not very reliable) is running a full system scan for my Norton antivirus. the problem is also fixed when my Windows 8 updates itself. Once I did a system restore and that was able to restore to a point where it was working.
I've tried the general trouble shooting program and the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter as well as the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter and neither "solutions" fix the problem.
