Start up for new programs
I recently un installed a program off a cd that I had installed about a month before. Just before trying to reinstall the program, I purchased on line a 'needed' security software ... When I tried to re install my program, Windows8 wouldn't let the run install work. I tried installing the program on my old Windows XP, it worked. I tried installing two other programs off CD onto my Windows8 OS.... It told me "Can't Open Install Run File" ......?????? .... Someone told me I probably had to 'reformatt' my OS. What do I really need to do?/ Who do I call??

Would appreciate if you could help me with more information.
On installing which application are you facing this issue?
Did you check if the application is compatible with Windows 8?
What is the exact/complete error message?
As a work around I would suggest you to install the programs in Windows XP compatibility mode and check if it helps.
