Startup application mcagent.exe is installed as part of the McAfee SecurityCenter, which is the main support center for McAfee's range of Internet security products such as Total Protection, Internet Security and VirusScan. As well as providing System Tray access (via the "M" icon) for product configuration it also communicates with McAfee's servers to manage updates and virus alerts
