I bought a Windows 8 Laptop (meaning it came with it pre-installed) earlier this year. It wasn’t until recently that I got back into gaming on my laptop. Immediately I noticed a very aggravating problem. Almost every game will quit unexpectedly which makes me lose my in-game data. I would say 90% of my games are all from steam. The rest are from Amazon’s store or Origin. The rest of my software consists largely of Microsoft applications. I never download questionable material, attachments, etc. I know that the problem is with either Windows 8 or Asus. I am at work but I will update my laptop’s stats later. I have factory rest my laptop TWICE now and the problem persists. Updating every driver in my computer did not help either.

What are the specs of your Laptop? How much RAM does it have? Are the Air Vents blocked causing it to overheat as games are played?

Have you tried right-clicking on the shortcut to the game program, or the .exe, and selecting the "Run As Administrator" option? Do so even if your user is an Admin.

Try right-clicking on the actual Setup.exe and selecting the "Run As Administrator" option? Do so even if your user is an Admin.

See if some other program is causing your problem.
