Media Centre Not Finding Channels
I have recently migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 8. I bought the MediaCentre app and have not been able to get the Media Centre to find apps. I use a Hauppauge WinTV-Ministick. I have upgraded drivers and bought a new WinTV V7 application (supported under Windows 8). WinTV V7 app finds the channels without an issue. However MediaCentre does not find them. I have tried various suggested solutions e.g. turning firewall off, etc but nothing works. I also rebuilt the laptop PC from scratch but still have the problem.

Could you run the set up again?
Open WMC > Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Run Setup Again
Does it help?
If the above doesn't help then try resetting WMC:-
Open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or off > Scroll down to Media Features > Uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > Follow on screen instructions > Reboot > Again open Turn Windows Features on or off under Control Panel > Scroll down to Media Features > Check the box against Windows Media Center.
Now reconfigure WMC again.
If the above doesn't help then create another user account with administrative privileges and try to configure WMC there.
