Cannot connect win 8 laptop to new tv

Q

ive just bought a new 32" samsung tv and cannot get my laptop to display its screen on the tv. I've got an hdmi to hdmi cable, tried it earlier by connecting my laptop's hdmi port to the tv's hdmi port, and it actually worked. Then I unplugged the hdmi cable and turned the tv off to make some lunch, came back up and tried to reconnect it but has never worked from there and always says 'no signal'. For some unknown reason it just won't work again and i've tried turning everything off and on again etc. In the device manager it now shows an 'unknown device'.

Can anybody help? I've got absolutely no idea what to do. It's not the cable as it's a new good quality cable opened today, and I've tried it with another cable too to no avail. I suspect my pc is not sending a signal to the tv

Usually this issue is caused if the Video card driver folder has got corrupted or because of not installing updated video card drivers. I would like to know some information about this issue so that we could assist you further.

1. What is the make and model of the computer?
2. Have you checked if the computer has any display issues?

I would suggest you to download the updated Video card drivers and then try reinstalling it and check if it works for you.

Step 1: Download the Video card drivers from the computer or graphics card manufacturer's website.

Step 2: Follow the steps to uninstall the video card drivers:
a. Press Windows + X keys and click Device manager.
b. Expand Display Adapters.
c. Right-click on the Video card and click on Uninstall.
d. Restart the computer.

Step 3: Once after uninstalling the video card drivers install the updated video card drivers that you have downloaded.
