Removing IE "Temporary Internet Files" on Windows 7
What are "Temporary Internet Files" stored by Internet Explorer (IE)? Can I delete them?
✍: FYIcenter.com
"Temporary Internet Files" are web pages stored on your hard disk by Internet Explorer (IE) for quick viewing. By default, IE stores all web pages you have visited and all pictures you have viewed.
Yes, you can remove all "Temporary Internet Files" stored by IE by delete all files in "C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files" and "C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5" folders.
You can also remove temporary files by running Internet Explorer (IE) and click the Tools button, then Internet Options. On the General tab, click the "Delete..." button in Browsing history section. But it seems that this "Delete" button does not remove all temporary files. So delete files from above folders is the best way.
