Problem signing on to outlook through laptop

Q

I opened up an outlook account for my HP Laptop. At first I had no problem logging on with the password I set up until the other day I tried numerous times to log on to my laptop with the same password and kept getting a message to log on with the password previously used which was the same password! I than went on to outlook through my iphone and reset my password and still cannot log on to my Laptop. I have no problems logging on to my outlook account through another computer but cannot log on to my laptop! There's no one else besides myself who has access to my laptop or email. I emailed outlook support but they emailed me back stating I should contact windows support team for further assistance. They said my laptop may be corrupted or may have some settings in it that may hinder me from signing in my laptop.

Since the issue persists, you may try the following steps and check.

Step 1:

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it works for you.

If you have multiple user account on your computer, I would suggest you to remove and re-add this particular account and check if it helps.

To remove an account from your PC, you must be signed in as an administrator to follow these steps.

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, clickSettings, and then click Change PC settings.)

2. Tap or click Accounts, and then tap or click Other accounts.

3. Tap or click the account you want to delete, and then tap or click Remove.

4. Tap or click Delete account and data.

This might take a few minutes, if the account has a lot of associated data.

To create a new user account, refer to the steps from the following article.

Create a new user: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-8

f. At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active:yes, and then press ENTER. .

g. Type net user administrator , and then press ENTER.

Note: Please replace the tag with your passwords which you want to set to administrator account.

h. Type exit and then press ENTER. Log off the current user account and then login with Administrator account and then re-add the existing account and check if it helps.
