.Net 3.5 install in win8 pro. Faster way?
In Vista I just download .Net 3.5, double click file and install. I now purchased a new computer with win8 pro installed when I got it. I have downloaded every instance of .Net 3.5 I could find on Microsoft.com. None worked. I find out I have to go into settings > Windows features and “allow†the install of .Net 3.5. Immediately .Net 3.5 starts downloading. I stop the download because I have every .Net 3.5 install file. I will now use these. One should work. Nope. Not a one works. I have to allow .Net 3.5 in settings and waiting a half hour to download. Then a half hour to update .Net 3.5 through windows update. Is this how a administrator must do it to a bunch of computers in a company? I can’t believe administrators that need .Net 3.5 for software that is a little older must jump through these hoops for each computer. It is so much faster and easier to download the install file before I need it. There must be a better way.
