Problems logging on after changing account settings

I used to have a yahoo email account as my primary and have since changed to an outlook email account. I went through both the Windows 8 user settings and the more account options on-line and changed everything to my outlook account. Even though I did that, my old yahoo address still shows up under my name when I log onto my computer. Even worse, it now tells me that my password or userid is incorrect (like when I tried to set up a picture password). I assume it is because it is still tying my old email to the password and coming up with nothing on line now. Help! I don't want to have to create a new user and lose everything in my current account!
